Dear Chevy Impala -I still remember the first time we met - it was August, 2001! I had just been with an OLD
Chevy Celebrity (80s) and you looked so HOT and NEW!!! You were SO dependable and NEVER died on me at a stoplight in the middle of the city!! We have been to Pennsylvania, New York and all the states from Texas to Utah! We put you through 3 - sometimes even 4 kids - and over 75,000 miles, but you never had a problem!! You were our first brand NEW car and now it is time to part - ohhh the sad nights we'll have (lol)!!!
Don't worry - I know your new owners, the Rigby's, will LOVE you as much as we have - even if ours was very sentimental! You will be missed, but NEVER forgotten!!!
Love,
Sarah
411 - so we sold our car, we just can't keep driving a 5 seater when we are a family of 6!
While digging out that OLD picture of us and the good 'ole Impala (which, by the way, the dealer took that picture and mailed it to us on a Calendar - NOT our idea!!!) I came across this CLASSIC article!!!! It was printed in the "housekeeping monthly" magazine in 1955 - boy have things changed since then!!!
If you can't read it - here is another link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Goodwifeguide.jpg
ENJOY!

Oh, so sad! I remember my parents getting a calendar with a new car complete with a picture of them and their new car. I always thought it was a funny concept-but, those car salesmen seem to think it's a fine idea?
And I have read that article before and it was a little ridiculous what those women were expected to do to be a good wife! Thank goodness times have changed!
When we bought our Mazda, we also got a calendar with a picture of us. The worst part is that the sales dude insisted on being in the pic with us...way to ruin a perfectly good pic! LOL! And p.s. I remember that stinkin' Celebrity you used to have...I had to drive it from Beaver to Minersville and that was the scariest half hour of my life! I thought I was a goner.
P.P.S. That article needs to be burned and the link destroyed forever. Seriously, who could live like that? Except the guy, of course...lololol!
Well, at least the impala will be close by and you can visit (and drive it) when you start to feel sad and lonely!! I am impressed it is still in such good shape-especially after the way the old celebrity was treated!!!
you had lots of good memories from that car! It's not too far away if you ever want to come and visit!
p.s. we will take good care of it...I promise not to wreck it.
Hey I'm pretty sure we have a picture like that in front of our blue truck somewhere.
I never got a calendar, what's wrong with my salemsan? I'm glad the impala received better treatment then the celebrity!
